Meet the designer

In this edition, we asked Audrey Vallens to share a more personal side of her journey. A glimpse into her inspiration, her creative world and the challenges that shaped the brand. A moment to meet the mind and heart behind the label.

What inspired you to begin this journey?

I started this journey with the desire to create clothes that feel alive, not just worn. Fashion has always felt like an intimate language to me, something that touches the skin and evolves with the woman who inhabits it. I wanted to build a world where craftsmanship and individuality come together, where every piece is an extension of the woman herself.

Where do the ideas that spark new collections come from?

There is no single source. Ideas arrive through textures I stumble upon, the curve of a silhouette in movement, the quiet rhythm of a morning, or the energy of a city street. Inspiration comes unannounced. I follow instinct before concept, letting shapes, fabrics and emotions speak first. Every collection is a conversation between intuition and craft, rather than a trend or a theme.

What has been your biggest challenge in building your brand?

Growing while staying true to our values has been the greatest challenge. We produce locally, keep craftsmanship at the center, and constantly search for materials that align with our standards. Working this way requires time, patience, and a commitment to quality that isn’t always compatible with fast production cycles or traditional business timelines. Yet I would not trade it, because the integrity behind each piece is what defines us.

What part of your creative process feels most meaningful to you?

The moment fabric meets form, when a simple sketch becomes something that feels alive on the body. That transformation is where the emotion of the process lives.

What keeps you inspired today?

Women do. Their complexity, their strength, their contrasts. I’m drawn to how many versions of ourselves we inhabit throughout life, and I design for that plurality. I find inspiration in the woman who dresses for herself, who embraces elegance without rigidity, who seeks comfort without losing sophistication. She is ever-changing, and so am I, as a designer.

Is there a piece you’ve created that changed everything for you?

Not one, but a few moments have marked our direction. The All-Gen capsule opened a new vision for us, it was bold, fluid, and unexpected, and it resonated deeply. Then came pieces like the Cupro Slip Dress, loved for its simplicity and sensual comfort, and the Urban Jumpsuit, a design that became a studio favourite from its earliest sketches. Each of these pieces revealed who we were becoming as a brand: timeless, versatile, and quietly avant-garde.
